Quantum Sensing with Extreme Light

چکیده
Optical nonlinear conversion processes are ubiquitously applied to scientific as well industrial tasks. In particular, employed generate radiation in many frequency ranges. plenty of these processes, the generation paired photons occurs — so-called signal and idler photons. Although this type has undergone a tremendous development over last decades, either generated or been used experimentally. contrast, novel quantum-based measurement principles enable usage both partners photon pairs based on their correlation. These approaches have an enormous potential for future applications, they allow transfer information from one spectral range another. ranges where detection is particularly challenging can benefit principle. Above all, include extreme ranges, such low-frequency side mid far infrared even terahertz range, but also high-frequency ultraviolet X-ray range. review article, theoretical experimental developments correlated biphotons described specifically regions.

Extreme ultraviolet interference lithography with incoherent light
In order to address the crucial problem of high-resolution low line-edge roughness resist for extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography, researchers require significant levels of access to high-resolution EUV exposure tools. The prohibitively high cost of such tools, even microfield tools, has greatly limited this availability and arguably hindered progress in the area of EUV resists. To address th...
متن کاملQuorum Sensing in Extreme Environments
Microbial communication, particularly that of quorum sensing, plays an important role in regulating gene expression in a range of organisms. Although this phenomenon has been well studied in relation to, for example, virulence gene regulation, the focus of this article is to review our understanding of the role of microbial communication in extreme environments. Cell signaling regulates many im...
متن کاملQuantum multibaker maps: extreme quantum regime.
We introduce a family of models for quantum mechanical, one-dimensional random walks, called quantum multibaker maps (QMB). These are Weyl quantizations of the classical multibaker models previously considered by Gaspard, Tasaki, and others. Depending on the properties of the phase's parametrizing the quantization, we consider only two classes of the QMB maps: uniform and random. Uniform QMB ma...
متن کاملQuantum modeling of light absorption in graphene based photo-transistors
Graphene based optical devices are highly recommended and interested for integrated optical circuits. As a main component of an optical link, a photodetector based on graphene nano-ribbons is proposed and studied. A quantum transport model is presented for simulation of a graphene nano-ribbon (GNR) -based photo-transistor based on non-equilibrium Green’s function method. In the proposed model a...
متن کاملExciting Polaritons with Quantum Light.
We discuss the excitation of polaritons-strongly coupled states of light and matter-by quantum light, instead of the usual laser or thermal excitation. As one illustration of the new horizons thus opened, we introduce "Mollow spectroscopy"-a theoretical concept for a spectroscopic technique that consists of scanning the output of resonance fluorescence onto an optical target-from which weak non...
